A skilled engineer and programmer, Cindel worked on the TERA suit designs as well as integration of the AI implants prior to being picked for the Europa mission. She loves a good VR or AR FPS, but she found true solace in the history of our popular culture. For Cindel, it was a way to escape the monotony of the reboots, rehashes, and "requals" that dominated the market in the 22nd century.
Cindel relies on technology. It is part of the reason she became an engineer, to make life a little less awkward for her. She even modified her AI implant CHIP with knowledge of late 20th and early 21st century popular culture so she'd feel more at home. Now CHIP recognizes the reference, though he may not understand the context. Rhetorical questions and sarcasm are still not his strong suit.
For as much time as she spends online, she's much more a dog person. Hates cats...
Peregrine is part of the Advanced Recon team for the newly colonized planet Odysseus, born here after the Minoan crashed. He lost his father at a young age but was able to keep a piece of him by having his father's AI implant integrated with the gauntlet of a TERA suit. Reprogrammed to understand the world with an integrated sensor array, BETA became Peregrine's surrogate family.
Knowing how fragile life can be on this planet, he has made it his mission to keep the colony safe, putting himself in harm's way for the sake of others. BETA now acts as his nagging voice of reason whenever he decides to do something stupid...which can be quite often.
The second generation have slightly enhanced reflexes and senses due to a modification in their genetic code, but no one knows why it's happening to them. Also, Peregrine hates the word moist...
Scott was part of Cindel's engineering team prior to the Europa mission, though Cindel will always argue she's better. His friendship with Cindel grew due to their mutual love of pop culture, though he's much more a movie nerd than a video game nerd.
As head of engineering he is part of the Tribunal, the governing body of the Odyssean colony. Their mission is to keep everyone alive in hopes of finding the crashed Minoan and getting home.
He is a cat lover, a topic of contention between him and Cindel.
Dr. Corra Rodriguez
Corra was one of the youngest graduates to earn both her M.D. and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. After graduation, she was recruited to participate in a fellowship to join the Europa mission. Out of over a hundred participants, she was one of three that were choosen.
Now Corra is head of medical for the Odyssean colony and part of the Tribunal along with Scott. She may be a little dispassionate in her care, but she is highly skilled and capable. Thanks to her time as a lab assistant at Johns Hopkins, she has been able to synthesize a number of drugs from the flora on Odysseus.
She is a Type A personality, driven, focused, and generally annoyed by most people. Okay, it's less "Fun Fact" and more "Heads Up."
Boudicca "Bo" Connoly
Boudicca, or Bo as her friends call her, is a second generation colonist. Like Peregrine she has heightened senses and reflexes. She was trained from a young age to take over for her father, the former head of security for the Odyssean colony. She is a highly skilled fighter, trained in multiple martial arts and is an expert marksman.
As head of security, she is the final member of the Tribunal along with Scott and Corra. She has a definite belief in the greater good, even if that puts other in harms way. This ideal puts her in contention with Scott and Corra who believe all Odyssean colonist lives matter.
Just kidding. She has no friends, only subordinates.
